3 Methods To Turn Content Into Revenue
Some marketers (or founders) try content for a few weeks (or months) and end up getting no return on investment. Most of the times, it’s because they don’t use the right method to monetize their content.
→ Here’s the truth: you can’t sell too aggressively in content
So in this edition I’m going to give you 3 ways I use to turn content into revenue
First, keep in mind that:
In 2021 - my previous agency (acquired) went from $0 to $1M thanks to content in 14 months
In 2024 - my solopreneur business generates up to $54K per month thanks to content
Those 2 businesses (and the 320 projects I worked on) taught me how to turn content into revenue. So everything I share is based on real experimentation, I didn’t find those insights online.
And in this edition, I’m going to share 3 monetization methods:
Method 1 : Content Ecosystem + Social Selling
Method 2 : Content Upgrades + Email Sales + Sponsorship
Method 3 : Social content + Front End Offer

Method 1 : Content Ecosystem + Social Selling
The first method has the greatest potential if you are ready to commit a lot of efforts in content creation and social selling (setting and closing). To put it in simple terms, you generate a lot of traction on multiple content channel, this creates opportunities, and you harvest them in DMs (direct messages).
Here is an oversimplification of the process:

The content creates opportunities
You harvest the opportunities in DMs
So here are the ingredients you need to use this method:
A lot of content variety (how tos, case studies, stories, tutorials…) with high quality
A repurposing system that distributes content on various channels (example: newsletter, linkedin, youtube, ebooks, blogs)
An intent detection system or process to detect prospects with high intent
Social selling skill for setting and closing - you should know what to send, how to send it, and when

Here is how to detect buying intent signals:
Method 1 is best if: You are selling a high end offer that requires personalisation and a more complex sales process
Method 2 : Content Upgrades + Email Sales + Sponsorship
The second method aims to collect qualified emails (that fits your ICP) on social media and redirect them to an email-based ecosystem. Then, you sell products and promote sponsors in your emails. The most common technique is called the “lead magnet” (I usually call this a content upgrade).
Here is an oversimplification of the process:
You post content on one social channel
You always aim to collect emails
You sell YOUR products or SPONSORS in emails
So here are the ingredients you need to use this method:
Strong social content and CTA that motivates the audience to get your free stuff in exchange of an email
A great landing page to have a high conversion rate (I recommend this service)
A very (very) good free content you send in exchange of the information (you cannot rely on a junk ebook anymore)
A strong skill in email copywriting to sell inside the emails
An offer that matches the email channel (not too high priced) - I call this an email-ready offer
Here is how to SELL inside the emails:
Propose a discovery call - Best if your offer is above $1000
Insert a link to your offer page - Best if your offer is less than $1000
Ask for a reply to get more info - Best if you need a quick setting session by email or whatsapp
Insert a paid sponsor - Charge $200 to $10,000 depending on the size of your email list
Method 2 is best if: Your product or service has a low tier price and can be sold within emails (email course, subscription, horizontal SAAS)
Method 3 : Social content + Front End Offer
The third method is more straight to the point. You post content on social channels and always redirect to a front end offer. A front end offer is an easy entry, lower priced offer where it’s easy to get a “YES”. Then you can upsell your clients to higher end offers.
Here is an oversimplification of the process:
Post content on social channels
Aim to sell a front end offer (e.g. audit at $1000)
Upsell the clients to higher end offers
So here are the ingredients you need to use this method:
A strong presence and content skills on one specific social channel
A set of banners and CTAs to lead your audience to the front end offer
A specific front end offer that make your prospects say YES
An upselling system that increases the LTV of your customers
Here is how to design a good front end offer:
Easy Entry Offer: Make the front end offer easy to understand and solve a problem that your audience knows about.
Lower Price: Start with a lower-priced product or service to attract customers that won’t take a big risk.
Fast time to value: Make sure your offer delivers results fast (within 1 month) to hook the customer and move on to the next offers.
Initial step: Covers the initial steps of the transformation from current limitation to ideal outcome (cf picture).

Method 3 is best if: You are a service company or a service-enabled product and have a front end offer that is easy to sell. (service company, agency, service-enabled product)
