Hello welcome to this edition:
5 Quick Tips for Creating Better Content
I usually share long-term strategies to help you build authority.
But today, I’m sharing tips that you can implement right away.
👋 On my end, I’m currently doing a productivity sprint to create the V2 of my course. I’m focusing all my efforts on making it the most actionable product I’ve ever created. Stay tuned—I’ll send you some updates!
Here are 2 of my favorite spots to work in focus mode:
On the left, a coffee shop right in front of my condo (which just closed, but another one will reopen soon), and an onsen—a traditional Japanese spa with hot springs.
Let’s jump to the 5 tips for content creation;
Tip 1 - Break down your content creation into multiple steps
If you hate the blank page syndrome (you should), create a creation process instead. Break down the “publish a piece of content” task into a step-by-step process that you can replicate. Discipline and systems beats inspiration on the long term.
→ Implement now: next time you need to write a piece of content, follow this process;
Tip 2 - Learn more about your ideal customer
The content ideation part is much easier when you know who you are talking to. You can start your piece of content with “Dear ICP” and talk to them directly (don’t forget to delete it afterward). To shape this strong knowledge, consider these 4 elements below.
→ Implement now: answer the 4 questions below in the infographic (ask your audience if you don’t know yet)
Tip 3 - Think about “how you want to be perceived”
Your content ecosystem is meant to establish your position in the market, not to generate views and likes. The end goal is to achieve a clear position in your audience’s mind (see the green box below). If you don’t know how you want to be perceived, you won’t be able to shape this positioning effectively.
→ Implement now: answer this question “how do I want to be perceived?”
Tip 4 - Think about repurposing first
Repurposing doesn’t mean “copy and paste.” It’s a system that allows you to turn 1 insight into 15-30 pieces of content. So, you need to plan it in advance. For example, the newsletter you’re reading now is based on pre-validated ideas from LinkedIn posts.
→ Implement now: Ask yourself, How am I going to repurpose this piece of content later?
Tip 5 - Connect your content to your revenue system
Too many marketers tell me, “I can’t generate revenue with content.” When I audit what they’re doing, it’s always the same problem: they’re just posting content and … that’s it. Instead, make sure to connect a social selling and warm outbound strategy to your content strategy.
→ Implement now: Reach out to 10 people who have engaged with your content.
Alright, that’s the 5 things you can implement now for your content!
